Lovely Mac is in search of a new place to rest his paws after his person moved into a no pets allowed situation. This gentle boy has low vision, so it takes him a little time to gain confidence in new surroundings, as he maps out his place and his pack. He will need love and guidance from his new people, which he will reward with his affection and unwavering loyalty.
Mac enjoys a daily stroll and is great on lead. He loves the company of other small dogs and would do well with a doggy companion at home. Most of all, though, Mac loves his people and relies on them for affection and warm laps in which to snuggle. He will follow you around, waiting for you to sit down, so he can access his favourite place, your lap.
Mac is toilet trained but needs reminding to go out, and may have the odd accident while he finds his feet; understandable as he is navigating a lot of change fairly late in life. He has not had much training but given his kind and gentle nature, he is very easy to manage and certainly enjoys being handled with care. Mac is used to sleeping on his people’s bed, where he sleeps soundly through the night. He is friendly with people and dogs alike. He has not been tested with children, but given his vision challenges, fast moving small people may be a little overwhelming for him.
Mac is an inside boy and clearly used to being a companion dog. He will do best where he has a person at home most of the time, with or without a canine pal.
If you are looking for a new friend and loyal lap warmer, Mac may be your man.

All our dogs are desexed, C5 vaccinated with intranasal, microchipped, wormed, and flea treated. All necessary vetwork such as dentals, surgery, eye treatment are also carried out. We are no longer heartworm testing as we have not had one positive test since we began in 2006. If a dog comes to us on heartworm treatment this is continued.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

We look forward to receiving your application.
