About Mia
*In foster care in Petersham, Sydney*
Mia is a gorgeous 7-year-old girl who was very loved by her previous owner. Although a little shy at first she's wonderfully affectionate once settled, enjoying pats, belly rubs and neck scratches, and she's always happy to have her coat groomed! She also loves to lie on her foster carer's lap and cuddle up on the couch :)
Like a lot of Bengals, Mia can be quite chatty, particularly when she wants food! She's an enthusiastic eater, but not demanding, and she's a fan of treats too.
Mia definitely likes routine in her day. After breakfast she has a stickybeak at the outside world through the screen door, then spends a few hours snoozing on the couch or a dining room chair. She's more active in the late afternoon - climbing her scratching post and busting out the odd zoomie - but she's really very low-energy for her breed!
Because Mia is quite anxious and easily startled, and is also adjusting to recent changes and routines in her environment, she's currently on anti-anxiety medication which is mixed with her food. When she's very stressed she does have some toileting issues (urinating outside the litter box). These issues are currently helped by the medication.
Like all Maggie's pets, Mia is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: I'll be the perfect companion for a calm, quiet single person or couple, or a family with high-school aged kids. Loud or unexpected noises aren't my thing at all, so none of that please!
Due to changes in my circumstances, I'm looking for an adoptive home where I'll be the only pet. I'll also need to be an indoor cat for my own safety.
I tend to attach to a favourite human, so if you're home more often than not that would be amazing. I am able to spend the day snoozing happily by myself - but watch out when you get in! I'll barely leave your side, and eagerly jump into your lap or snuggle beside you the second you sit down on the couch.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Fairly low, really! I'm a mature lady whose preferences for gazing out of windows or sleeping the day away definitely outweigh any desire for mischief. I will pop the occasional zoomie though, and I also quite like climbing the cat tower and batting at a string or wand toy!
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: A home with teenagers might be nice, as long as there's not too much noise or bustle.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I'll need to be your one-and-only pet - but don't worry, I'm more than enough for anyone :)

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
