About John Smallberry
*In foster care in Canterbury, Sydney*
Off-the-charts friendly and active, John Smallberries is a tiny daredevil! He likes a high perch, preferably a shoulder where he can purr directly into your ear - but make sure you're close enough to something he can jump onto, because he's always testing how far he can leap!
When he's not busy powering your whole street with his energy, John enjoys relaxing on a nice lap while he builds up to his next play. He always welcomes a pat or being picked up for a cuddle, and hates it when you're out of his sight! If he can't see you, or if he doesn't think he's close enough, he'll let you know by meowing very dramatically :)
John tries hard to engage the other cats in his foster home in games and play, even when they're not into it, so he'll need supervising around bigger cats until he can hold his own.
Like all Maggie's pets, John Smallberries is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will have lots of places to run and climb, a stack of toys to play with, and somebody home almost always for cuddles and company! I'd love some kitty siblings who can match my energy too! Little humans will need to be old enough to understand to be gentle with me.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: So high! All I want to do is play, but I'm really good at entertaining myself when you're busy.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I've met one small child and that was quite scary, so any kids in the home should be at least school age (5+) and know how to be patient and gentle round cats.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: There are two resident cats in my foster home, but they're old and boring and get mad when I try to play with them :( A younger kitty with lots of energy will be a great match for me, as will older cats who can tolerate an annoying little brother!
I haven't got any experience with dogs at this stage.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
