About Sophie
** IN FOSTER CARE IN MARRICKVILLE**
Meet Sophie, a stunning, intelligent, and uniquely spotted beauty ready to find her forever home.
She is the ideal mix of a playful puppy and a couch potato and would make the perfect addition to most families.
Sophie adores her humans, loves a good belly rubs, and can’t get enough of chasing toys.
In a home environment, Sophie is pretty perfect - gentle natured with great manners. She’ll happily nap the day a way or come and join you for a cozy cuddle sesh during TV time. When it comes to basic obedience and training, she’s got all the basics down packed (sit, down, shake, stay, rollover, and many more.)
While Sophie thrives in a home environment, the outside world can be a bit overwhelming for her. Loud noises and unfamiliar surroundings make her a bit anxious, so she's on the lookout for patient and understanding humans who can help build her confidence as she settles into a new environment
MY IDEAL HOME: I love my humans and would prefer someone who is home more than not, but am also fine being alone for periods of time. I’m more of a suburbia girl vs a city slicker, as too much commotion can be a bit overwhelming. I’d probably be ok in apartment, but it would also be nice to have a yard to run around in.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I am a good balance of a playful puppy and a couch potato! I have a pretty chill temperament and don’t need constant entertainment, but I do require few walks, some enrichment and training, and definitely a little play time each day to run around and chase or tug. (My 2 favourites!)
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I seem to love all humans, but not 100% sure on kids.. I would do fine with the older kind that don’t crawl or make too much commotion.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I am dog social, and in my previous life would frequent the park with other doggies off lead. However, when I am on a lead and doggies come too close to me, I can get frustrated and/or excitable (We’re working on that..)
As for cats, I have lived with a cat in my past life, but it’s taking time to meet and a new kitty in my foster home as we're still testing that out. I would probably do best with a kitty that’s confident and/or not fussed by dogs. But as you know, we don’t always get along with everyone, so would need to be a good fit (cat or dog)

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
