About Nola
Hello there! I'm Nola, a beautiful 5-year-old Domestic Shorthair with a heart as big as my petite frame. Despite my adult age, people often mistake me for a kitten because of my small size and adorable appearance. I'm reaching out to you from the shelter, and I'm on the lookout for a forever home where I can shower my new family with love and affection. Life has taken an unexpected turn for me, and I found myself at the shelter through no fault of my own. It's been a bit of a journey, but I've quickly adapted to my surroundings, thanks to the wonderful animal attendants here. They've helped me feel comfortable, and now, I'm ready to bring joy to a new home. I'm a sweet and sociable girl who loves to engage in a good chat with my human companions. There's nothing quite like the sound of a friendly conversation to make my day brighter. I believe communication is the key to a strong bond between humans and feline friends.
Now, let me share a bit about my unique needs. Due to a condition called Anterior Synechiae, I'll need to be an indoor-only kitty. But don't worry, I'll bring the sunshine indoors with my playful and loving nature. The vets noticed that I was not good at cleaning my teeth and because of this, I have mild gingivitis. To help me out they gave my teeth a good clean before I was made available for adoption. The good news is that this can be managed with a dental diet, dental chews and teeth brushing. It would be best if you get my teeth checked once a year by vets to see how I am going with keeping my teeth healthy and clean. During my time in care, I faced a challenge with conjunctivitis, but with the right medications, I made a full recovery. It's just a small part of my story, and I'm looking forward to creating many more happy and healthy memories with my future family.
Once more thing, I have recovered from cat flu. It is very similar to what a cold looks like in humans but it is a cat only strain, so you don't have to worry about me making you sick.. While I have recovered, I will always have it in my system and under times of stress I can show symptoms of it again. If I go home with other felines it would be best to keep us seperated for the first two weeks so I don't risk spreading it to them. If in the future you notice me coming down with the "flu" (sneezing, watery eyes, discharge) then it would be best to take me to the vet for a check up. I will need to be kept an indoor only cat for the rest of my life.
If you're ready to welcome a sweet and petite feline companion into your home, I'm here, waiting for you. Love Nola xx
