About Jack
Meet Handsome Jack!
This older Neo-mastiff mix has had it tough & is now looking for somewhere calm & peaceful to decompress from a traumatic life as well as the 3 months he has spent in shelter.
Jack is a big, loveable goofball. If you're a fan of bigger dogs & are looking for someone who is happy to potter about with you & lay in the sun, then Jack may be your guy.
He has spent the best part of his life on a tether, often without adequate food, water or shade. It's amazing that he loves people as much as he does. He now deserves to find some super special people who will welcome him into their family & treat him as an important member of it.
Having been chained up for so long, Jack is pretty undersocialised around other dogs, although we have found out that he seems to prefer small to medium desexed dogs. He would be happy being the only dog in your life, but we are open to meet & greets if you already share your life with a canine companion.
Jack has had a few bumps in the road with his health, but this is to be expected given his age & the conditions he had to live in for so long. He has recovered from heartworm & an enlarged prostate. He has had several teeth removed & also will need joint supplements for a touch of arthritis that he has.
Jack is not a high energy dog, but he does really enjoy his daily walk & actually walks pretty well on his harness. He will need secure fencing & a high-quality diet to keep him happy, healthy & safe.
Despite his tough times, Jack is a really lovely guy who has heaps of love to give & he really deserves his time to shine now. We really feel that he has more than earned it. Please consider this brave older guy as the new member of your family!
