About Georgie
My name is Georgie, and I'm a fine-looking kitten with a story to tell. Life started off a bit rough for me, but I've come a long way, and now I'm ready to find my forever home. I'm looking for a special someone with a quiet household and a heart big enough to understand that good things come to those who wait. Due to my initial shyness, I would prefer a home without kids under 12. I believe a serene environment and a patient human would be the perfect match for me.
I have recovered from cat flu. It is very similar to what a cold looks like in humans but it is a cat only strain, so you don't have to worry about me making you sick.. While I have recovered, I will always have it in my system and under times of stress I can show symptoms of it again. If I go home with other felines it would be best to keep us separated for the first two weeks so I don't risk spreading it to them. If in the future you notice me coming down with the "flu" (sneezing, watery eyes, discharge) then it would be best to take me to the vet for a check up. I will need to be kept an indoor only cat for the rest of my life.
I'm hoping to find someone with cat experience, someone who knows how to read the subtle signals of a feline friend. If you've been a cat parent before, you already understand the delicate dance of earning a cat's trust. I'm not difficult – just a bit cautious. With time, you'll see me transform from a shy kitty to a loving companion.
While I was in care at the RSPCA I was treated for a fungal infection called ringworm, which is the same as athletes foot. In animals it makes us itchy and causes fur loss in circular shapes, which is why it’s called ring worm. Due to ringworm being contagious to other animals and people, I had to have medicine and weird smelling baths to treat it. Plus, I had to have 2 different skin test to confirm that I am definitely all better but I am happy to report that I am now completely ringworm free!
If you think you're the one for me, please reach out to the shelter. I can't wait to meet my forever family and share a lifetime of love and happiness together. With purrs and anticipation, Georgie
