How does interstate adoption work?
How does interstate adoption work?
Some rescue groups do offer the option of interstate adoption, but it depends on the group so please check the individual pet’s profile page or enquire with the rescue group directly to see whether this option is available.
Generally, the relocation costs are at the adopter’s expense, though it’s often not as expensive as you might think, and can certainly be worth it if you find ‘the one’!
You may wish to enquire with a pet travel company such as our partner Jetpets about prices. Also, rescue groups can apply through PetRescue for a limited number of free flight per month (again, thanks to our wonderful partner Jetpets) so that might be worth mentioning to the rescue group should you find yourself particularly keen on an interstate pet.
Good luck, and we hope you find your new furry family member.
